Fully Charged The Renovo Coupe bills itself as the first all-electric American supercar. The planet will thank you.

The Coupe from Renovo Motors is more Silicon Valley, less Detroit, but all-American when it comes to horsepower and styling. And blessed it be for that fact. Renovo unveiled a production prototype of the Coupe at this year’s Concourse d’Elegance car show in Pebble Beach, CA; it is on sale now and deliveries are slated to begin in 2015.
If it looks familiar, you’d be right. Based on the Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe CSX9000 rolling chassis, the Coupe takes the best from classic American motoring and fills it with top-shelf electric tech. The onboard twin sequential axial flux motors are good for over 500hp; you’ll go from zero to 60 in under 3.4 seconds with a top speed of 120mph. Most impressive of all may be the throttle response: Renovo claims that from pedal to metal, full power is at your disposal in just 37 milliseconds. It’s far from cheap but light years from your teammate’s Prius, too.
