Fall is one of our favorite times of the year to create cocktails. it's the season to start moving over to brown spirits like bourbon and aged tequilas and also to start incorporating ingredients like pear, apple, cranberry and fresh citrus.
Here, we've upped the ante on a few classics, as well as created a few modern crowd pleasers.
Re-Pear Sado Margarita
12oz Avion Reposado Tequila
4oz Grand Marnier
2oz Agave Nectar
4oz fresh squeezed lime juice (approx.3-4 limes)
12oz pear nectar (Ceres)
Garnish with lime wheels and pomegrant seeds
In a glass pitcher, combine all of the liquids and stir. Add pleanty of ice into the pitcher, stir and let sit to marinate for a few minutes. Pour into a large rocks glass with fresh ice and garnish with a pear slice.
Cran-Apple Punch
12oz Gentleman Jack Whisky
6oz ginger syrup
6oz lime
6oz cranberry juice
6oz apple cider
A few healthy dashes of Angostura bitters
Garnish with apple slice
In a glass pitcher, combine all of the liquids except the bitters and stir. Add ice, stir and let sit for a few minutes. Pour into a tumblr with fresh ice. Give a few shakes of bitters on top and garnish with an apple wedge.
Elit Champagne Cocktail
1oz Elit by stoli Vodka
1/2oz Grand Marnier
2 dashes od Angostura Bitters
Top with Champagne (use Veuve Clicquot, Perrier Jouet or Laurent Perrier)
Lemon curl
In a cocktail shaker, combine Elit by Stoli, Grand Marnier and bitters, add ice and give a quick shake. Strain this into a Martini Glass of Champagne Coupe and top with a splash of Champagne. Garnish with a lemon curl.
Spiced Apple Sour
2oz Gentleman Jack Whisky
1/2oz Grand Marnier
1/2oz fresh squeezed lemon
2oz apple cider
Dash of Angostura Bitters
Garnish with grated cinnamon and apples slice
In a cocktail server, combine Gentleman Jack, Grand Marnier, lemon juice, cider and bitters. Add ice and give it a few vigorous shakes, then strain over fresh ice into a highball glass. Garnish with grated cinnamon and an apple slice.
Pomegranate Margaritas
12oz Avion Blanco Tequila
4oz Combier Triple Sec
2oz Agave Nectar
4oz fresh squeezed lime juice (approx 3-4 limes)
12oz POM Wonderful
Garnish with lime wheel
In a glass pitcher combine all of the liquids and stir with a mixing spoon. Add plenty of ice into pitcher, stir and let sit to marinate for a few minutes. Pour into a large rocks glass with a fresh ice and garnish with a lime wheel.
Brown Derby
2oz Woodfood Reserve Double Barrel Bourbon
1oz honey syrup
2oz fresh squeezed grapefruit wedge
In a cocktail shaker, combine woodford Reserve Double Barrel Bourbon, honey syrup, and grapefruit juice. Add ice and give a few vigorous shakes, then strain into a martini glass. Garnish with grapefruit wedge.
Maple Manhattan
3oz Woodford Double Barrel Bourbon
1/2oz vermont maple syrup
A few healthy dashes of Angostura bitters
Orange twist
In a cocktail shaker, stir maple syrup and bitters until dissolved. Add Woodford Double Barrel Bourbon and ice. Stir the drink until the ice is slighty diluted and the dark has a viscous texture, then stain into a rocks glass without ice. Garnish with an orange twist.
Vesper
2 1/2oz Stoli Elit Vodka
1oz Tanqueray Gin
1/2oz Lillet
Lemon twist
In a cocktail shaker, combine Stoli Elit, Tanqueray gin and Lillet and add ice. Stir the drink until the ice is slightly diluted and the drink has a viscous texture, then strain it into a martini glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.
